It all began with a friend’s nostalgic longing for the old-fashioned ice cream from the award-winning Souris Valley Creamery, crafted by the Grundeen Family. That cherished memory inspired us to recreate the same beloved ice cream, with a steadfast commitment to the quality that made it famous. At Kōn Artisan Ice Cream, we believe that it's what's on the inside that counts.
BEHIND THE COUNTER
Meet Tony
The journey began to master the art of ice cream making. The first step was enrolling in a dairy science course at the University of Guelph's Dairy Science Department. From there, it was all about immersing in the craft—attending seminars, studying every aspect of ice cream, and even taking a gelato course at the renowned Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy.

The vision for our ice cream shop was to create a truly unique and inviting experience. We spared no expense in crafting a space that feels as special as the ice cream we make. Located in downtown Estevan, Saskatchewan we restored a heritage building from 1912 to its former glory, blending modern updates with historical charm.
From the welcoming exterior to the beautifully restored ceiling, every detail was thoughtfully designed to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Our goal is to offer a memorable experience, where the warm hospitality and handcrafted surroundings make you feel at home the moment you walk through the door.
